Academy of Fly Casting

Phone (720) 312-2523dan@flycastingacademy.com

The Colorado Academy of Fly Casting is a school for all fly casters. Our goal is to share your enthusiasm and to coach you to a skill set that helps you catch fish in any situation.

Our experience in fly fishing and fly casting allows us to successfully welcome and coach fly fishers of all abilities, from beginning to advanced anglers.

We are located in southwest Denver, but cast and fish all over Colorado, the Rocky Mountain west, and the fresh and saltwaters of North America.

Private and Group Instruction

We feature customized one-to-one instruction, with a curriculum based on personal goals and schedule requirements.

But, we also offer groups a number of part-day to all day workshops. Topics include Introduction to Casting, Learning the Double Haul, Advanced Casts for Trout, and Saltwater Presentations. We can set up customized workshops for interested groups.

Trout and Saltwater Casting

The fly casting we teach is for trout rivers and still waters, the saltwater flats, and the dark rivers of steelhead in northern woods. We teach delicate spring creek presentations, curves and mends for freestone rivers, open loops for plopping bass bugs, and the double hauls of longer casts for reaching across windy salt flats.

Spey Casting: Steelhead and Salmon

We have years of experience in the fundamentals of Spey casting, with two hand or single hand rods, and their use on beautifully remote steelhead and salmon rivers.
